Technology has provided many things to make our lives easier. We can order plane tickets without coming to the airport or agents. In addition, we can still communicate with each other even in other countries. We can admit that technology has helped us a lot. Moreover, a technology called the internet with one of its products called social media. We as social media users often forget that we are not the complete owner of our account even though there is a private account feature. Of course, media owners can see it, they can use it for the benefit of their social media platform, or it could be for other purposes, as was done by social media Facebook some time ago. We are negligent and feel that it is entirely ours. That is also what Spike Jonze wants to talk about in the film 'Her.' It all started when Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix), a lonely widower who worked at BeautifulHandwrittenLetters.com, a handwritten letter writing service company, walked from his apartment to work when he saw a promotion of a computer operating system that has Artificial Intelligence (AI). ) is named OS1. After buying and installing it on his computer, Theodore hears a female voice named Samantha (Scarlett Johansson). Samantha is a Voice Assistance for OS1 with AI to understand the habits of the user. As the story progresses, Theodore and Samantha like each other, ending up in a relationship. Of course, this is strange for us where one person is dating a technology product, but in 'Her,' the other characters think it is normal except for his ex-wife, Catherine (Rooney Mara). He indicated that he indicated that it is unnatural. Technology has gone beyond its limits.

Sense of Ownership

Theodore and Samantha's problems started when Samantha was shut down for maintenance. Theodore was confused. He was like a soldier in the middle of a frenetic battlefield when his weapon was lost, running around the streets. Theodore searched until he realized that his lover was also in a relationship with another user while Theodore was talking to Samantha. Jealousy arises when Samantha talks with 8,316 other people, even Samantha also puts her heart on 641 other people. All a mess. Theodore had forgotten that he was only a service user. It was this inflated sense of ownership that made Theodore feel betrayed. He became possessive. We know that human actions always have a cause, but we do not necessarily want to know the cause. We will judge things by what we see without using our feelings or thoughts to understand what is going on. Spike Jonze's film reveals why Theodore behaves the way he does. She is not strong enough to face life while facing the divorce process, so she looks for distraction. Theodore married Catherine, who was his best friend. They grew up together, but the relationship was destroyed when they could not understand each other when faced with a problem. That is what made Theodore become a possessive person. He did not want to be left behind by someone he loved. All human nature or behavior always has a cause. This film seems to invite the audience to find out the cause of his illness before relating to other people.
